Group Outings and Activities GOLF - There are a number of golf courses which, unlike in Britain, are all open to visitors. TENNIS - Tennis courts can be booked by the hour and prices are reasonable. The climate allows for tennis and lawn bowling in the Algarve all year round and competitions are almost all open to visitors. HORSE RIDING - Most of the horses used by various riding centres are at least part Lusitano, the famous sure-footed Portuguese breed. They are hardy, medium-sized horse of good temperament. Their sure-footedness makes them ideal for riding either through the soft, sandy, coastal pinewoods or along stony trails in the hills. ZOO - The largest zoo in the Algarve is north west of Lagos. Like all modern zoos, the emphasis is on preservation and conservation. |
